Unconscious Spiritual Bypassing
Spiritual bypassing is a "tendency to use spiritual ideas & practices (the positive thinking cult) to sidestep or avoid facing unresolved emotional issues, psychological wounds & unfinished developmental tasks". The term was introduced in the early 1980s by John Welwood.
As Morpheus said "You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so injured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.”
